Abracadabble

Position-Sensing, Speech-Enabled Magic Spell-Casting Video Game Controller

Wand-shaped video game controller is equipped with position sensors so as to detect and transmit wand positions to computer or game console. The wand is moved into different positions so as to input a physical input pattern within a particular time period.

Meanwhile, verbal commands are also given by the user through a headmounted microphone or other speech recognition technology input device so as to input a verbal input pattern within a designated time period.

The physical input pattern and verbal input pattern are compared against potential patterns in a patterns database to determine whether there is a match. If there is a match, the spell that corresponds to the complete pattern, which includes the physical input and the verbal input, is cast.

Human user accounts, trained to recognize the patterns input by that particular user, can be associated with games, individual characters associated with games, spells associated with individual characters, and so on.
