TWELVLiquarium

Color-Based Liquid Clock

A projector projects light into a liquid-filled, clear-walled container according to a TWELV Intuitime color-to-hour matrix designed expressly for projection.

TWELV - Liquarium Clock

The color of the light reflected off of objects floating in the water indicates the hour of the day. Minutes are indicated through one of a number of different ways.

For instance, in the example depicted above, an air pump pumps air into the liquid at a rate that increases throughout the course of an hour. Thus, at the beginning of the hour, there are just a few bubbles; toward the end of the hour, the liquid is permeated with bubbles. At the top of the next hour, the cycle repeats.
